Have You Bought A Fake Tablet?

You may find many tablet computers in the market have great hardware at cheap prices. Are they really good tablets for you? Or you might have bought a fake tablet that is overpaid.

When you find some deals are too good to be true, you should be more careful before checkout. This post will tell you what a fake tablet sounds like and how to find out if the tablet bought is fake or not.

Fake screen resolution

The seller would say their tablet PC has a very high resolution, such as 1920*1200px, 2560*1600px retina display, or even higher. But actually, the real definition is 1024*600px or even lower for a 10-inch display tablet. As you can imagine, the actual screen performance for this tablet is far from HD.

To find out the real screen resolution of the tablet is easy. Just take a screenshot(you can usually hold the "volume -" + "power on" button on the tablet to take a screenshot quickly) and check the definition of the screenshot photo. The photo's definition is usually the real resolution for the tablet.

Fake operating system

As we know, Google has released many versions of Android OS. If you check the system version in the settings of some fake Android tablets, you will see it says 8.0, 9.0, 10, or even higher version, but actually, it is only an Android 6.0, 4.4, or lower version tablet.

For a fake version tablet, you usually cannot enjoy the new features of the new system. And the UI of the tablet usually does not look similar to the system version advertised.

Fake hard drive size

You may see some tablets advertised with 128GB or even 256GB, 512GB, etc ridiculous ROM size. But the real ROM of the tablet is only 32GB, 16GB, or even smaller.

To detect whether you receive a real ROM tablet, you can connect the tablet to a PC and copy enough movie files into it. For example, if you want to test if it is bigger than 32GB, then you copy 32GB or more files into it. If it is a fake size, then not all the movie files can be copied or played.

Fake RAM memory

A big RAM in the tablet ensures the tablet can run multiple tasks more smoothly. Some fake tablet PCs would say they have 6GB RAM, 8GB RAM, or even 16GB RAM, while the actual RAM is only 2GB, 1GB, or smaller. A fake RAM tablet is usually slow and the performance is not as good as it is supposed to be.

Fake CPU

You may see some tablets' hardware sounds good. But they may have told you a fake CPU model and processor speed. You can check this by using some hardware checking app or simply open the back cover to check inside.

Fake battery capacity

A fake tablet advertised with 6000mAh, 7000mAh or even higher capacity battery. As you can tell, the actual battery performance of this tablet is short, you have to charge it after only 1 hour or less of playing.

Fake cameras

Some fake tablets are advertised with HD cameras, such as 5MP, 8MP, 12MP, or higher megapixels. It's easy to tell when you take a photo with the tablet camera. The photos would be blurred as it is only 1MP or even 0.3MP camera.

Fake brands

To get more trust from customers, some cheaply made tablet computers might be with brands like appearances. They would advertise with brands, such as Lenovo, Samsung, etc. If you contact the brand's manufacturer, they would tell you they have never created or produced such type of tablet pcs.

Why do not buy fake tablet?

  • Overpaid: If you see the price with so good specifications is a great deal, but the real hardware of the tablet is not even worth the money you have spent.
  • Not Stable: As there are usually many things in the tablet that are modified abnormally, the tablet would be easy to crash or break.
  • Risk: Think about that you have put some important photos or files into the tablet, then you cannot open them the next time using, there might be a risk of big loss.
  • Dangerous: As those fake tablets are usually chosen as the cheapest materials to build, they might have bad effects on children or adults.
